Designed by Ken Shuttleworth, who also contributed to the design of the London Gherkin building, it was inspired by the city`s industrial heritage - the cladding reflecting the heavy industries of Birmingham, including the metal plate works & car plants, whilst the inside is very crystalline, being all glass, like the jewellery side of Birmingham.
