Steam Galloper

STEAM GALLOPER

Often called a Carousel or Merry-go-Round, the correct name to describe this beautiful Victorian example is Steam Galloper - greatly popular at travelling steam fairs.

The horses legs are stretched in a permanent leap & the horses rise & fall, pointing left, giving the impression of horses racing, whereas on a Carousel the horses have a fixed position & rotate in an anti-clockwise direction.
